Steven + Whitney

Oh friends, I can’t wait for you to [virtually] meet this sweet couple! Steven + Whitney were so fun to get to know and photograph… but I’m getting ahead of myself! Just a few weeks ago Lance, Trevor, and I packed our bags to spend a long weekend at a cabin in Caledonia State Park with some friends. Little did Lance and I know that we would be traveling through “Apple Country”! It was so beautiful! We drove over rolling hill after rolling hill, all of which were covered with acres and acres of apple orchards, as far as the eye could see. Out there apple orchards are to them as corn fields are to us— we loved it.

We had a great time just chilling out with beautiful weather and no real agenda; we visited a local winery and a couple orchard markets. Not only was I happy to be spending a weekend away with my little family and our friends, but I was also excited to photograph Steven + Whitney while we were there— this was the only weekend that we could all coordinate our schedules to get together for their engagement session, and it just so happened that this state park location was exactly what Whitney had requested… she asked for the forest… right up my ally, and it couldn’t have worked out more perfectly!

Whitney is free and adventurous, and Steven has a quiet, strong and true spirit. I loved watching them together, they are such a beautiful combination. They first met each other when they were 12 years old, thanks to their older siblings (who are now married!). Steven + Whitney are tying the knot next August and I am so thrilled to capture their wedding day;.Whitney has lots of fun, original ideas and I just know it’s going to be amazing. I’m also delighted to see her family again— I photographed her sister’s wedding a few years ago and another one of her sisters was one of my favorite teachers in high school!

Okay, on with the pictures! Enjoy some of my picks from our woodland engagement session!
